Formation of the National Assembly
The third estate was renamed as the National Assembly, after separating from the Estates-General. The third estate or National Assembly consists of majority of the French population. They revolted because they thought that they were not being treated equally, they were the only ones to pay taxes even though their economy was going down. The National Assembly wanted a constitutional monarchy and they wanted to develop a new constitution of France. In the tennis court oath, they simply stated that they would remain indissoluble until they had succeeded in creating a new constitution.
